Watched it yet?  I’ll wait.

Re-watched it?  No, seriously, I don’t care if you’ve seen it before, you need to watch it twice.  I don’t have anywhere else to go…

I was in OGT‘s basement way back in January, and in-between bouts of Guitar Hero 3 and Ouendan made more challenging by the crippling cold of OGT’s underground lair, we watched some anime.  I was introduced to several shows I hadn’t heard of — including Baccano! and Bamboo Blade (which I love, by the way, have I mentioned this?).  I’m almost finished with Baccano!, but frankly despite how awesome the show is, and how strangely it puts into action the old Highlander chestnut, really what I think of when I think of this show is its OP.  Usually I like vocals with my OPs — I’m one of the nerds who sings along.  Yes, I’m the target audience for the four- or five-layered karaoke that puts fansubbers through so much trouble.  However, two of my favorite OPs of all time (this being one, and Cowboy Bebop‘s the other) have no lyrics.  I mean, aside from Bebop’s world-famous “…Three two one, let’s jam!”  

I suppose the question is, could music with no lyrics work with any other genre of music?  The answer is yes, of course, but it does amuse me, in retrospect, to find my two music-only favorites are both in the same genre of music — a genre I don’t listen to all that often in my free time.  

That’s just about all I can muster.  I show no sign of recovering soon, so Pontifus’ nefarious plan will have time to reach its fruition.  It just means I’ll have to build a protoman in my apartment, high above the city, and lay down some phat rock n roll over top his attempts to save the world from Pontifus’ iron grip.
